Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park

Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park is widely considered to be the most environmentally responsible cemetery in Australia. The park, which received its first burial in 1978, has been developed and maintained as a natural bushland cemetery planted only with native species. No monuments are permitted but each grave is marked by a flat bronze plaque.

The natural environment of Pinnaroo provides a haven for many native animals including kangaroos. The grounds are a popular attraction for walks, jogging and picnics.

Due to the nature of the flat lying plaques in the Pinnaroo burial areas, tributes need to be removed for mowing and maintenance. A list of tribute clearance dates can be downloaded here:  Tribute Collection Dates January 2024 – December 2024

Funeral Protocol

Mourners gather in the chapel precinct for chapel services, or alternatively make their way to the burial area for a burial service.
