Springtime Warning: RRMP and PVMP

The beautiful spring blooms on display within our cemeteries at present brings another timely reminder to be aware of snakes when attending funerals or participating in leisure activities at Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park (PVMP) and Rockingham Regional Memorial Park (RRMP).

Sightings at each site will inevitably increase over the warmer months. While snakes are generally deterred by the presence of large groups of people, it is important to be aware of your surroundings when visiting these parks.

At this time of year, the activity of ticks at PVMP also tends to increase.  Whilst the MCB sprays to reduce the numbers of tick population, the significant kangaroo population in the park inevitably brings the unavoidable presence of ticks.  Spraying insect repellant before entering the park can help to minimise the risk of contact.
