Burial and Cremation
If you are arranging a funeral for someone who has died, or planning a funeral in advance, a fundamental decision needs to be made as to whether you would prefer burial or cremation. Once this decision is made, there are many additional options available to suit the needs, beliefs and values of individuals, families, religious and cultural groups.
Burials can take the form of below ground interments in a cemetery or above ground entombments in a mausoleum.
Cremation can be simply defined as the reduction of the body to ash. The Metropolitan Cemeteries Board offers cremation facilities at Karrakatta Cemetery, Fremantle Cemetery and Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park.
